AFW's in-person operations in White Plains will resume later this Spring! Here is what to expect during this exciting transition period.
Dear Members,
We are happy to inform you that Alliance Française of Westchester will be resuming in-person operations in White Plains this Spring!
Our new office will be located at 280 Dobbs Ferry Road, Suite 302, near the Metropolis Country Club.
To accommodate the need for more parking and easier student drop-off and pick-up a new- location-search was conducted to satisfy this main requirement. While our team still has some work to do to make our new home ready to become the Petite France of Westchester once again, we’re excited to see you all there very soon!
The pandemic gave us plenty of time to think about what was best for our students, and it was important for us to make Alliance Française of Westchester even better than it had been pre-pandemic. You will be happy to know that our new office makes it much easier for parents to drop off their children safely before classes, and students will now be able to park within a short walking distance of their classroom! Additionally, the new location has less street noise than the prior location on Mamaroneck Avenue.
In-person classes are expected to resume as early as April 25, 2022, although not all classes will return to the in-person format. Further notification will be provided over the next month or two on the specific classes moving to in-person. We know many of our students actually prefer to remain online, for a variety of reasons, and some of you prefer the idea of a hybrid model, alternating between in-person and online lessons. Some may also prefer moving back to in-person classes in the Summer or Fall, rather than interrupt their current routine, as we know you all have a busy schedule, especially at this time of year. Don’t worry, we’re here to listen to you, so let us know how you feel and our team will propose a variety of options depending on what is best for each class and each student. In any case, we will have classes available in person for most levels and age groups starting in April and May, as well as during our Summer session.
In April and May our team will be focusing mainly on resuming in-person operations and classes, but other cultural activities and events will follow shortly after. Check our upcoming newsletters and more information will be announced soon! Workshops will also resume little- by-little, although most will become available in-person during the upcoming Summer and Fall sessions.
Brand new Spring classes can be found here: Toddlers
& Young Children - Children & Teens
- Francophones - Adults.
Summer classes and Summer camps will be announced shortly and you can already pre-enroll by filling-in
this form.
Please note that to start with space will be limited, as not all our classrooms will be ready from day one and as we will still remain cautious about social distancing. We recommend you to sign up early if you would like to be guaranteed a seat.
As usual, a placement test is required before registration so we can identify the best class for you. Interviews with our course coordinator will remain online for the time being, however in-person interviews will resume shortly. In the meantime, you can always feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
